Sarah studied biochemistry at the University of British Columbia (B.Sc. honours) and joined Dr. Kelly Brown’s lab as a junior researcher. She studied immunology at the University of Oxford (M.Sc.), where she received a Clarendon Scholarship and trained in Dr. Irina Udalova’s laboratory at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology. Sarah returned to the University of British Columbia to pursue doctoral studies with Dr. Brown in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. Her thesis research aims to elucidate the role(s) of adenosine deaminase 2 (ADA2) in the development of immune cells (neutrophils and monocytes) and is supported by a Canada Graduate Scholarships Doctoral award. Sarah enjoys ballet, yoga, and spending time outdoors.
